Location & Behavior

She is encountered at the end of the dream sequence in the Tower of Endless in Ma'habre. When entering the house at the end of the dream sequence after seeing the last of Ragnvaldr's memories, the player will briefly see the skin granny turning, before starting a battle. The player is noted with the text 'You get ominous vibes from the old lady in the darkness...'

Strategy

While the Skin Granny may seem harmless at first, she is actually an extremely dangerous encounter, based on how prepared the player is. After her first turn, she will reveal her true form, consisting of three arms, two legs, and a menacingly smiling head. The player is noted 'Skin granny changed shape!' when this happens. It is therefore best to use the first turn to prepare for the fight to come.

As has been said, in her true form, the Skin Granny has five limbs that can be targeted: her three arms, two legs, and the arm behind her head. It is important to focus on the hands first, as they use needles for stabbing attacks and may cause critical damage and severe physical trauma. Her feet, while dangerous, only offer mild kicks with no status effects.

When the player sees the text 'Skin granny is flexing its fingers...' it means her coin toss lethal attack will start to begin within the next few turns. It's from her middle arm, behind her head. The player either has to take it out quickly or face a lethal coin toss that could end with the player's death. This leads to a unique sequence, where the player's face is ripped off (described in text) and then, for a brief moment, skin granny's sprite changes to that of the player's stretched face before the player dies.

At the end of the dream, the player has to make a choice - whether or not to accept the 'gift' from the Endless One.

Lore

The Skin Granny seems to be based around a myth that is passed around in the northern parts of the world, particularly Oldegård. It is said that the creature vividly lives in the dreams of the northern folk. As the dream sequence shows perspectives of all the four main characters, it is possible that she was dreamed up by Ragnvaldr.
